Paul O’Connell is the President of B. Braun CeGaT LLC, as well as the President of B. Braun Interventional Systems. Paul’s career in Medical Instrumentation began when he co-founded Vena Tech in 1988 and brought the first percutaneous vena cava filter to the North American market. Vena Tech was acquired by B. Braun Medical in 1993, and brought into B. Braun’s Interventional business unit, which he now leads. Paul’s background is in Engineering. He holds numerous global patents, including patents for implantable devices currently used in patients around the world.
Saskia Biskup, MD PhD, co-founded CeGaT GmbH in 2009. As a Human Geneticist, Research Scientist and Bioinformatician she positions herself at the interface of diagnostics, research and clinic.
During a two year scholarship sponsored by the German Research Foundation she gathered international experience at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD, USA. Her own research revolves around LRRK2, a gene involved in Parkinson’s disease, and the development of new biomarkers to enable early prediction of neurodegenerative diseases. Saskia Biskup was the first to discover variations in the LRRK2 gene; LRRK2 is the gene which is most often associated with Parkinson’s Disease (Neuron 2004). She was awarded multiple international prizes for her research.
Dirk Biskup, PhD, cofounded CeGaT GmbH in 2009.
After graduating from the University of Hamburg, specializing in Economics and Business Administration, Dirk Biskup worked as Scientific Assistant at the University of Bielefeld, finishing his PhD thesis on combinatorial optimization and complexity theory in 1999. At the end of 1999, Mr. Biskup left the University and took different positions within the industry.
He worked as Senior Director at Bertelsmann AG being involved in approximately 50 M&A deals. At the start of 2005, he took the position as CFO of Berryville Graphics, the largest single printing location in the United States. From 2007 to mid-2012, he was the European CFO of AEG Electric Tools Division and Managing Director of multiple European sales, logistics, and holding companies of this group. Since July 2012, he has been exclusively working for CeGaT GmbH.
Dawn Brooke is the National Sales Manager at B. Braun CeGaT, LLC. Dawn is responsible for developing and managing the commercial team within the North American market. She joined B.Braun CeGaT, LLC, in 2013 and has over 15 years’ experience within brand marketing, strategic planning, business development, and sales leadership for companies within the health care sector. During her five years at the company she has seen firsthand how high-quality genetic testing can impact the lives of so many and will continue the lead her team bring testing to institutions, clinicians, and patients. Dawn holds a Bachelor of Science from Marquette University.
Eric R. Miller is responsible for sales activities and business development for the Midwestern United States. Eric’s primary focus is developing strategic relationships with pharmaceutical, hospitals, academic health centers, foundations, and advocacy organizations. Eric holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Marketing from Alma College.
Mitch Nemcek is responsible for sales activities and accounts in the Western United States and Canada. He has worked in the genetic testing industry for clinical laboratories as a scientist and in customer-facing roles. In his current position, Mitch has a primary focus on clients in the clinical areas of neurodegenerative disease and oncology.
Mitch studied biology at Indiana University and completed graduate studies at Johns Hopkins University, earning a Master’s degree in Biotechnology/Bioinformatics.
